Market Square Tragedy: The site of a bank robbery and resulting shootout between pro and anti-treaty IRA in 1922. Regarded by many as the first shots of the Civil war, it claimed the lives of two children.
Buncrana Bridge: The beautiful 6-arch bridge built in 1718 is a sight to behold. This is where the old town used to be based, and is the location of Buncrana Castle and the Norman Keep.
The Amazing Grace Platform: From Slave Master to redeemed evangelical lay minister. John Newton penned the infamous song Amazing Grace, but his story contains horrors against humanity.
Ireland's Smallest Lighthouse: This little lighthouse stood at Buncrana Pier for 133 years between 1876 until 2009 ,after which it was condemned to the scrap yard until a local group saved the day.
Buncrana Castle: During the 18th century, large manor houses like this one were known as ‘castles’. Today, the castle remains as a private home.
